Offered starting at $ 16,390, the 2017 Toyota Corolla is one of the best-selling cars in Canada, and certainly one of the most popular vehicles in the world. With a well-established reputation for reliability, safety, resale value and comfort, the Toyota Corolla remains a favorite of Canadian buyers. Redesigned not so long ago, the 2017 Toyota Corolla is more fun to drive than the previous generation as well.

Safety is never an option with the 2017 Toyota Corolla

The 2017 Toyota Corolla has some fierce competition in its segment, but it is certainly able to stand out on several levels. Faced with such a strong competitors, the Corolla stands out by offering, among other features, a number of standard driving assistance systems such as radar-based adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and prevention system with steering assistance, pre-collision with pedestrian detection, and automatic high-beam headlights.

These systems are available in the Toyota Safety Sense P, or TSS-P, a set of active safety technologies that are rarely (in fact never) standard equipment in the compact segment. But Toyota decided to add these features to the Corolla at no extra charge.

There are six models available to consumers in the 2017 Toyota Corolla lineup. Along with TSS-P, the offers 15-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, and a 6.1-inch central display screen with Bluetooth.

The CE model available starting at $ 19,590 adds air conditioning and LED headlights. Available starting at $ 20,505, the Toyota Corolla SE 2017 adds heated seats, a leather steering wheel, heated mirrors and automatic headlights. The sunroof, navigation system and rearview camera are elements that we find on all or some 2017 Toyota Corolla versions.

The 2017 Toyota Corolla can count on a fuel-efficient engine

A single engine powers the Corolla, but it is available in two versions. The majority of Corolla models receive a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with a continuously variable automatic transmission, or a six-speed manual transmission.

The LE ECO model, starting at $ 21,290, is equipped with the same engine, but thanks to some mechanical improvements, 15-inch low rolling resistance tires, an ECO indicator and other modifications, the engine offers 140 horsepower with an average fuel consumption rating of 7.8 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. Otherwise, the average fuel consumption rating of the 2017 Toyota Corolla is 8.2 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 6.2 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway.
