When Toyota decides to create a division that combines their quality assembly and their vision of sportier designs, you get Scion. And then you get the makers’s top selling model, the Scion tC.

It may not seem like it, but the Scion tC has been around for over ten years in North America. In Canada, Scion still has that new car smell because the lineup was introduced in 2010, and what we got with the arrival of Scion in our great northern country was the tC’s second generation, a platform virtually untouched ever since. With the introduction of the head-turning FR-S in 2012, Scion sent their best-seller back to the drawing table for a facelift for 2014, inspired from the design of the new rear-wheel drive coupe. The result is a fresh, modern and dynamic Scion tC and the 2015 model-year is no exception. With its arrowhead headlights, sporty front lip and model-specific roof line, the 2015 Scion tC is strengthening its position as top liner.

The Scion tC’s unique trim comes packed with all the goodies you would expect to find scattered through different trim levels, if this was any other manufacturer. So standard on the model, you get bucket seats, wheel-mounted commands with cruise control, an infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and a 6.1-inch touchscreen, and the possibility to add navigation, should you opt for the BeSpoke audio system, keyless entry, air conditioning, and so on. Even the sunroof is included in the base specs.

Even though the Scion tC is a coupe, you can get an impressive cargo volume by folding the 60/40 rear seats flat. Overall, volume can reach 417L. Improved this year are also the material quality that gives the 2015 Scion tC’s cabin a more premium feel. And at a starting price tag of under $20,000, value for the money is was makes it even more attractive.

Though there is only one version of the tC, accessory packages are available for customizing your coupe, your way. Powertrain is the same throughout: 4-cylinder, 2.5L engine teamed with your choice of a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, with paddle shifters. Output reaches 179 hp, with 172 lb-ft of torque, which gives the model an extra edge on the road, and loads of fun behind the wheel.

The only thing left to do is for you visit us at Toyota Scion Kingston and give the 2015 Scion tC a shot at showing how good the combination of Toyota engineering and Scion’s sportiness can be.
